Another Hexagon screwup

Again Hexagon has taken a good thing and made it useless. What was wrong with the forum the way it was?

Nexus is not what they told us it was going to be.

  • Look... New format... New stuff...
Where else can we go and have to answer lots of questions that feed the marketing machine?
Who doesn't like the tailored sales experience right on the homepage?
Now I know there is a new fancy DEA that I will never get to touch! And software my company is not interested in purchasing!
As long as they don't spam my inbox with "helpful" emails it should be fine!

Or maybe we just bookmark the new forum page location and pretend everything is going to be ok!  Nerd

  • Nevermind.... I retract my calm and cool demeanor.

Yall broke my google search and find any answer I want about PC-DMIS which has been working for years. Rage

  • I am absolutely livid that clicking the links in google search results redirect us to sign into nexus. The forums was set to read only the day before the migration. Why can't that still be active?

  •   &  .  Please bear with us.

Don and I (and many other members of Hexagon) have been working hard behind the scenes overseeing this transition and did our best to anticipate problems but obviously, some got through.

We're working on a way for people to convert their old links so that they work for Nexus - the actual post names should be the same so a short term solution may be to simply type the name of the post into the search bar at the top of this page.  For example if your old link was https://www.pcdmisforum.com/forum/pc-dmis-enterprise-metrology-software/pc-dmis-for-cmms/481115-2020r2-iterative-alignments#post481120 typing 2020-r2-iterative-alignments into the search bar should find it.

As for the Google search.  We set everything up such that this new site is visible to Google's search mechanisms and clicking on links will take people straight to them - albeit in pubic mode which means you have to sign in to be able to post/reply.  However, that will only work once google has indexed all of the migrated Nexus posts which may take a day or two.  The old pcdmisforum.com links will no longer work because that site has been closed and all traffic is being redirected.

As with any major change, there are bound to be teething problems and we are doing our upmost to resolve them as they come to light.
