Hello everyone. Just now getting acquainted with this new forum format. Things have changed over the past few years. I always liked reviewing the issues and discussions in the Users Forum of yester-years... hopefully I can find my way around this new Nexus Forum and get answers or assist with issues some may have. I'm definitely not a guru, but I've been around for 20+ years.
With that, my topic might be a bit retro, since Hexagon has moved away from the Datapage+ software. However, we have continued to use it rather than going through the pains of switching to Q-DAS, like when DataPage RT switched to Datapage+. Maybe some of you can enlighten me on why I should make the effort to switch.
One thing I have been struggling with, is that it seems a Windows 10 update close to a year ago, made changes to .Net Framework, and caused issues with Datapage+. It seems that after Datapage+ is loaded, we have approximately 3 minutes to build a report, or create Variable Sets, or work in the Editor window, before something refreshes and causes Datapage+ to not save updates or lose entire variable sets and/or reports.
We have requested assistance from our IT in regards, but they point the finger back at Tech Support... and in return, Tech Support points toward IT and their security settings. Either way, I'm the one that suffers with loss of working time and frustrations to get my job done. And our IT says it is not an option to stop system updates to avoid this issue.
We have also uninstalled Datapage+ and reinstalled. We have always found that V5.2 SP2 Build 795 to be the most stable and is what we currently use. Tech Support gave me an unreleased V6.0 to try, but that version doesn't like our SQL Server databases. And again, that version had the same issues as the V5.2 using a local database.
Frustrated to say the least.....
