Loop Statement ID=YES/NO ?

Here is a typical loop statement

V1 =LOOP/START, ID = YES, NUMBER = 8, START = 1, SKIP = ,
OFFSET: XAXIS = 0, YAXIS = 0, ZAXIS = 0, ANGLE = 0

What does the ID variable do when you set it to YES and when you set it to NO?

So you could loop and have a user prompt to load the next part and measure multiple parts and then use file write commands to output all the data at the end of the program?

I think that is exactly what I am looking for.
