Forcing Operator Input

I am using an INPUT COMMENT at the beginning of my program to have the CMM operator put in his name. Knowing our operators on the off-shifts, I am willing to bet they will simply hit the OKAY button without inputting their info. I believe there is a way using an IF/THEN expression to prevent the program from continuing if there is no input but I am just getting my feet wet using expressions. I would be extremely grateful if someone could share their expertise in this.

MAybe hard-wire the keyboard to give 50,000 volts of SHOCK if the "enter" key is hit without a minimum number of other keys hit first?

I'd recommend a script that gets the operators login ID. Here is a link to a script that will do this for you with a very simple modification. http://www.PCDMISForum.com/showthread.php?t=22455

Otherwise, you'll end up with inspection reports that say something like: "Inspected by: Haywood Jablomey"

Might be possible to solve by using labels and an IF/THEN/ELSE loop?

Pseudocode:

LABEL/COMMENT INPUTCOMMENT if INPUTCOMMENT == "" then goto COMMENT

I used the script referenced above by DJAMS that was written by vpt to pull the Login ID, and modified my Label Header to show the variable info. It is doing what I hoped for. Thanks to all!!

This certainly would have worked to solve the blank input problem, but would not have prevented parts inspected by Peter Gozinya. ( I apologize for my juvenile sense of humor, it is becoming apparent that I will never grow up)

I thought Mike Hunt was the second shaft operator.
