Return Edit window selection to script

Is there a way to return selected commands from the edit window to a script?

Ex: If I have 5 dimensions selected in the edit window can I send those commands to a script?

Highlighted (selected with mouse) or MARKED as in the PC-DMIS command "marked"?

Might work if you select it with the mouse, hit CTRL+C and then have some serious code for clipboard management in your script...
