I am being asked to confirm the orientation of a round clip, similar to a hose clamp. The dimension is an angle, and the tolerance is ±45°. Since the clip can be anywhere in this 90° range, what is the best way for the CMM to 'find' it? (without taking manual hits on it of course). The polar radius of the clip location is about 35 mm if that helps.
With that kind of tolerance, I would check it with a protractor and use the key-in command... simple approach!
Sounds like one of my parts that has a 0 to 8 mm internal radius. one supplier makes the part around 3 mm the other is banging the 8 right on the edge.
I had to make two different programs. Now I am waiting for us to get another new supplier to make it as close to zero as he can get it
