I have scanned an airfoil with an SP600 with a 2X40 tip. When i view my scans in Blade the profile looks pretty good except at the leading and trailing edges. For some wierd reason the spline looks jagged at the ends. the probe does not lose contact with the part. i have tried increasing/ decreasing speed and point density and still had no luck. in the spline settings in blade i have it set to use ball centered compensation and to remove hooks and spikes. if i spread the points out it looks better but i need to make sure i have enough points. Any suggestions?
Use the smallest possible ball diameter, go slow, and filter. The biggest thing is the ball diameter. The bigger the ball in relation to the radius size, the more difficult the radius correction.
