Does anybody know how to work out the 'Base tangent lenght' (e.g.often called the 7 Span or 5 Span dimension) of a gear when you only have the BS3550 spec to work with. The gear is a straight involute form
Table 34 / 29 Splines / External / 20/40Pitch / Fillet root side fit.
