So, I was wondering, for those of you who use clay to fixture parts, what kind of clay are you using? Links to possible vendor(s)? Much appreciated!

I rarely use clay on the CMM, but I do use it for holding things on the optical comparator. It is just cheap modeling clay I got in the TOY department at Wal-Mart. Yes it does leave a residue, but a little alcohol and a paper towel take care of that.
ditto.
Also, when you finish using the stuff that's for cleaning the TP20 magnetic connections, you can ball it up and use it.
Ditto to you to.
If your like me that stuff for the connections last a really long time and I have a lot of it (get it with every module TP20 & SP25 24 module total). You could also buy the cleaning kit from Renishaw (A-1085-0016 $18) just for the putty. Of course I only spent $2 for a box of modeling clay and that was 12 years ago and I still have about half the clay left.
ah HA! I shall try this! Something tells me that's what Hexagon had at their offices all over the place. Kind of silly putty colored stuff?Ditto to you to.

Modelling clay is used because it isn't water based and never dries out.
