I'm having a bit of a problem w/ a freeform scan, I have a semi cylindrical surface that i'm trying to scan(xyplane). I can't use a section scan b/c the surface is also semi-circular in the yz plane and is not very thick, section scan just won't fit. so, when i make the scan all of the points are where they should be the scan looks good but it's trying to scan from the inside of the part instead of the outside, all of the hit vectors are in the wrong direction. i've gone through and manually changed all of the hit vectors to the correct direction but the initial hit vector still wants to measure from the inside of the part, which is solid.
actually i was speaking to my colleague about this issue yesterday and he suggested the same thing; we went into our cad software and the surface normal vector was backwards. We did flip the vector in our cad software, but to no avail, pc-dmis still wants to crash through the part
