tcp/ip port setting

I am having trouble connecting to my DEA controller on my Global.
Using rs-232 connection I was able to use hyper terminal to show the connections.

READY
SHOW TCPIP
TCP/IP Information

Ctrl Internet Address : 80.128.0.2
Port Number : 0
Host Internet Address : 80.128.0.1
Connection State : listening
Bad IP Checksums : 0
Bad TCP Checksums : 0
Packets Retransmitted : 0

Is there a way to change the port setting remotely? It should be set to 2001, but as you see it is 0 now. The motherboard was changed recently in the controller.

  • Thanks for your prompt attention. I am a little confused. How many addresses do we have here? I have the machine interface IP address: 192.9.200.10 and the network card on the back of my computer IP: 169.254.135.111. Which one is host and which one is the controller? I am not sure about the IP 169.254.135.110.

    Thanks

Assuming you have only one network card (some systems have two). you need to change the computer address to be similar (but not the same) to te machine IP address. Something like 192.9.200.9 would work.

Also, this might take the computer off your company network, assuming you cable directly from the PC to the controller.

This is why you could have two network cards, one for the machine and one for the company network.
