Job Box Fault- No Machine Start -No Home

I’m getting a couple errors when I try to complete a machine start on our Brown & Sharp. This stared happening last night when our CMM operator was trying to clear a wrist error. When he tried to complete a Machine Start after clearing the error
The machine would give him these 2 faults.

TR_INIT,COM-CTL V24.00 XCEL SCAN – I have no idea what this means.

TR_FG032, Jogbox Fault – This fault occurs when I am prompted by PC DMIS to conduct a Machine Start and I press the Machine Start Button on the Jogbox. The machine does not stay on when I release the Start Machine button on the
Job box. If I hold down the Machine Start button I can get the controller to stay on so the Power and Ready lights are on. At this point when I try to home the machine the nothing happens.

We have a Renishawe PHC 10-2 Controller, not sure of the make of the job box. I tried calibrating the jog box by pressing all 3 axis buttons and the enable button but this did not work.

Any help will be appreciated.

Best Regards

  • I was informed that every component was dissconnected but I will do this again to be sure. When you mention the probe interface, are you refering to the probe head it self?

    Thanks

You may not have one. It depends on what combination of hardware your system is made of. If you have a TP 200 or an SP 25 probe, then you probably also have a Renishaw PI 200 Probe Interface box in addition to the "Probe Head, (or wrist), Controller" i.e. PHC 10 Renishaw or TesaStar. The main thing is to make sure every component of your system is powered down.

That may not solve your problem, but it is always a great place to start. Jeffman is correct also about the estop in the jog box possibly being the problem.
