Renaming Probe Files

When building a new probe file to replace the current probe file (current file is corrupt or otherwise because it won't calibrate at any other wrist angle than A0B0), can I just simply go to windows explorer to rename it or will this cause problems when back in PC-DMIS?
I need to keep the old probe file until I can qualify the new file so as not to interrupt production.

  • Give the new one a unique name. Do not rename it in Explorer.

FYI, if a probe calibrates Ok at A0B0 but:
    a) crashes into sphere at other angles, then virtual build is shorter than real-life build
    b) stops short of sphere, then virtual build is longer than real-life build.
Neither are a corrupt probe file. They are improperly created probe files that can be fixed.
