Amplitude Error

Good afternoon everyone. We have as one of our CMM's, a "ONE" machine and as of late as we crank up the speed of run of any of the proven PCDMIS programs to near 90-100% the machine stops and displays this error, "TR-FG 117, Y Amplitude Error" Any ideas what's going on with this? Usually this is tech support question but we're hoping a "quicker" response then thru the normal tech channels. Thanx.

  • +1 The scales are probably dirty. This happens at our shop all the time. We have 2 "ONE" machines and both behave exactly as you describe.

Just clean the scales. If it persists, you will have to call service and get them to walk you through resetting the voltage of the scale reader...(DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CLEAN THE READER!)

    +1 to this.
Yep, Its 99% of the time a dirty scale. Get some alcohol and a rag and clean it. I think I still have my notes in my email from how to reset too, but I would definitely have a service guy walk you through it
