'DOF: M54' Alarm

We are having movement issues with our CMM. During a programme the CMM stops and it tells us "DOF: M54 invalid machine not in manual mode".

The machine is in the middle of a programme, it all runs in DCC mode. So we are unsure why it is implying we should be in Manual mode to move from A-B along an axis. Even in the middle of a calibration run the CMM stops and shows this message.

If we press 'continue' it carries on like normal, so it looks like some sort of jolt or glitch. We can't have someone stand next to the CMM pressing 'continue' every two minutes during a programme, so we would like to solve this issue.

What is it, and why is it doing it?

PC-DMIS 2013. Tesa Micro Xcel. PH10T. Browne & Sharpe controller.

  • Where exactly is the comp file stored? What operating system are you using?

Windows XP (remember those good old days?). Boss refuses to update on something where we only press a couple of buttons an hour.

Files are always stored on C Drive, Programme Files, WAI, PCDMIS 2013 MR1.

I got a phone call from Hexagon a few minutes ago, and I have a list of files to manually transfer over from 2013 to 2013 MR1 folders:

    downl.oad
    sysparam.dat
    comp.dat
    toolc.dat

However, no matter where I look, we do not have a sysparam.dat file, and we do not have a tooloc.dat file in anything from the last two updates, so am nervous about using that.

Another thread someone can link me to that would help?
