'DOF: M54' Alarm

We are having movement issues with our CMM. During a programme the CMM stops and it tells us "DOF: M54 invalid machine not in manual mode".

The machine is in the middle of a programme, it all runs in DCC mode. So we are unsure why it is implying we should be in Manual mode to move from A-B along an axis. Even in the middle of a calibration run the CMM stops and shows this message.

If we press 'continue' it carries on like normal, so it looks like some sort of jolt or glitch. We can't have someone stand next to the CMM pressing 'continue' every two minutes during a programme, so we would like to solve this issue.

What is it, and why is it doing it?

PC-DMIS 2013. Tesa Micro Xcel. PH10T. Browne & Sharpe controller.

  • I just got Hexagon to remotely access our PC and do it all for me. Not a clue what they did though. We now have PC-DMIS MR1.... which should last at least 1 month before something new happens. But hey, we don't buy PC-DMIS to execute programmes, we do it so we have something to fix all year round, customers can take a running jump with their result requests... right?Stuck out tongue closed eyes
