'DOF: M54' Alarm

We are having movement issues with our CMM. During a programme the CMM stops and it tells us "DOF: M54 invalid machine not in manual mode".

The machine is in the middle of a programme, it all runs in DCC mode. So we are unsure why it is implying we should be in Manual mode to move from A-B along an axis. Even in the middle of a calibration run the CMM stops and shows this message.

If we press 'continue' it carries on like normal, so it looks like some sort of jolt or glitch. We can't have someone stand next to the CMM pressing 'continue' every two minutes during a programme, so we would like to solve this issue.

What is it, and why is it doing it?

PC-DMIS 2013. Tesa Micro Xcel. PH10T. Browne & Sharpe controller.

  • Haha. He did it with air filters on the roof too. Left it for two years without cleaning them because 'it is a waste of time', and recently they packed up and the replacement costs far outweigh having them serviced.

Ha ha...normal Brit miss-management......even talking to them thru their wallets is no guarantee that common sense will rise to the top.
