Pc-dmis to WINSPC?

Has anyone connected WIN-SPC to there CMM?

If so how did you manage it?

We have WIN-SPC stations and I have been asked to make the reports from the CMM report in WINSPC.

A small how to guide would be greatly appreciated Slight smile
  • Disclaimer, I've never done it, nor used Win SPC at all for that matter, but. . .

PC-DMIS creates a file of stats info called XSTATS11.TMP. You have to configure PC-DMIS for DataPage to see this file, even if you don't have DataPage. You can view this file with WordPad to see what it looks like. If you can get WinSPC to read this file, you should be able to make it happen automatically.
  • I would ask the makers of WinSPC how to get the data into their package.
  • export a .csv file with your data in it.
most stat softwares will read this type of file.
  • I'm going to assume that since winspc uses MSSQL databases that it should be capable of importing XML formats too. PC-DMIS can output XML data also, but you need to have the stats output option on your USB Software port lock(Same as if you want to use the proprietary pcdmis format xstats11.tmp)
  • PNT3 =FEAT/POINT,CARTENSIAN,NO

    THEO/<0,0,0>/<0,0,1>

    ACTL/<0,0,0>/<0,0,1>

    CONSTR/POINT,OFFSET,CIR4,0,19.25,0

    ASSIGN/DIMENISON1=PNT3.MEAS.X

    FPTR =FILE/OPEN,W:\SPC DATA\PCDMIS TEST.TXT,WRITE

    FILE/WRITE LINE,FPTR," DESCRIPTION , " + DIMENSION1

    FILE/CLOSE,FPTR,KEEP

So you’ll have an assignment for each output and a file/write line.

P.S Thanks Steve if you read this for the help...

Many of our customers use WinSPC with PC-DMIS. There are a number of different ways WinSPC could process your CMM data depending on the format of your output. pwhitsa is correct, WinSPC does support data collection via a CSV file. I recommend starting with a CSV output from your PC-DMIS, and using a Text File device within WinSPC to process the data.

If you would like, we may be able to assist you with this procedure, as well as how to report on the data . You can contact us by phone or email.

    Regards,
