Programming offline with NX model

So I just gave a presentation to our management explaining why we need an offline seat for PC-DMIS. Now that they are genuinely exploring the option, some questions are popping up.

Currently our engineers create models with NX, save them in Teamcenter, and export .stp models that I can import into PC-DMIS.

Questions so far:
1. Can PC-DMIS import a .prt file without DCI/DCT?
2. Has anybody gotten PC-DMIS to communicate with NX and/or Teamcenter? How does it work?
3. If models are stored in Teamcenter, is there any way to maintain automatic revision control of my programs (the way Hexagon claims)?

I'm sure more questions will follow. I appreciate your input.
  • I have not been able to use a .prt file as of yet. If it is capable, you would need the module to do so.

1.- Quick answer No. You will need DCI + NX license seat = $$$
2.- Ask your Co. to set you up with a "bridge" which is NX read only access this will give you the ability to export iges, step, etc...
3.- Maybe with DCI but I'm not sure.
