installing on another computer (offline)

Hey,

I simple need to install 2012 on a different computer. It is an offline seat. What files do I need to back up/transfer to the new computer? (how)

Why would I need program files or cad files to install software? Probe files make sense, but where do I extract them from pal?

You don't need the prg or cad files. Just a good idea to back them up.

Don't be so sure...

Easier to tamper with things in the server than on your C Drive. Back it up regardless of where it is. Then back it up again on an external hard drive.

The easiest way to find which files to backup for PC-DMIS and their locations is to open PC-DMIS Help, Search, Understanding File Locations and go through this topic. Hint: Remember to click on the i icons to see the actual file names. You may not have all of the files listed but this will ensure you are covering all that you have.

What is the down.load file? I was looking for it but can't find it. I currently had to get a new computer because my old one crashed. Installed pcdmis 2010, but I can't seem to get the CMM to respond. The CMM and Computer are communicating but I can't seem to get it to communicate with pcdmis. Does anyone here know what else I need to do?
