Hi, does anyone know how to open a CAD file from PC-DMIS back to a design software like SolidWorks? I did try changing the extension to STP, IGS or STEP but it didn't work.
2013 MR1 and 2014 has an export part model menu. File -> export -> part model -> stl
addendum: while this does bring the 'model' into solidworks, I can't figure out how to select anything. as further info, I brought this particular model into pc-dmis as an Iges, I can select features for measurement without having solidworks running. I then output it as an STL and when I bring it into solidworks I can see a 'solid' representation. I just can't analyze it.
