Importing CMM results into a CAD software (SOLIDWORKS) for comparison

Hello All,

An engineer has asked me if I am able to import the CMM result I get into SOLIDWORKS so they can compare it to the CAD model. I have never tried and I don't know where to start. Is it possible? If so, how can I do it? I will try to research the topic and I hope I can get someone's help in this forum to help me along. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance...

  • I had to dodge an Engineer at a customer for months who wanted me to contact hexagon and ask them to put in a enahncement into DMIS that would allow for the type of MATERIAL I was checking so it could accomodate the thermal expansion of the parts we were making / inspecting at varried temperatures....He really thought this was a simple straight forward request and was amazed that the software didnt do it already.

Actually, it does do that. We have Part Temperature Compensation. Run a search for Temp Comp.
