I am working with the Gear software to check a spline and cannot get it to work. Attached is the specs and I am not sure what I am doing wrong.

  • be careful. The spec you show is a CAT spec, CAT 1E2028. PC-DMIS technically does not evaluate the spline profile correctly to that spec. (nor for that matter, to the ANSI B92.1 spline spec). Spline specs typically require that the profile be 'zeroed' at the pitch diameter. To evaluate a spline as a gear does not do this. Also, the evaluation of 'effective' tooth/space information is not available with PC-DMIS.

Another software offering from Hexagon, QUINDOS, can evaluate to ANSI B92.1-1970, and CAT, AGMA, DIN, ISO,....specs
