cannot install PC-DMIS "no valid product license"

I am a new user of PC-DMIS and already fallen at the first. The software will not install past the CLM install. The message I receive at the start of the set up is " no valid license could be found for this product". My reseller suggested installing the latest .net frame work, which I did. Now it has 4.5.2 installed but still the same problem. We are due to start installation of a new Hexagon CMM soon but, we're not going to get far if I cant even install the software to run it. Please can someone advise on this.

    Hello Jon,
When you purchase a new CMM from us (Hexagon) it comes with a "seat" of PC-DMIS, that is a license to run PC-DMIS on the computer that hooks up to the CMM.
You can choose to have us provide the computer as a package with the CMM or provide your own computer.
Either way, you still need the actual license to get PC-DMIS to run.

Additionally, if you are trying to install PC-DMIS on a computer that is not hooked up to a fully functional CMM -well, this is not possible unless you purchase an Offline license which is a very valuable item as it lets you program from CAD models and prints while the CMM is busy checking other parts.
Often our customers will have this bundled into a new CMM purchase too, if the budget allows, as it's a smart way to run.

Since the inception of PC-DMIS, the licenses were always stored on removable computer parts. In the olden days they plugged into a serial port, nowadays they are a small USB Hasp drive. But the very latest development is LMS licensing, which requires a code string to activate.

So, you have to find out: Did your company purchase an Offline seat as well? Was it supposed to be delivered before the CMM install? Then call your reseller sales rep.
If not, then you are just going to have to wait for the CMM to be installed.
