New computer coming, how to transfer PCDMIS to new one?

We have a PC management program at work and its time for a new tower. Before it gets here I want to have all my ducks in a row. My question is, is there a checklist that walks us through this process? I have 2012 MR1.

  • If you look in the install directory for PC-Dmis there will be a readme.pdf file. The first few chapters detail how to install PC-Dmis - including all of the files you may need to copy over from an old system and where to find them.

With regards to your problem of PC-Dmis not seeing your probes correctly, make sure they are in the public documents area and NOT in the install directory (C:/program files/wai/pc-dmis.....) Due to the way windows 7 works, you will generally have problems accessing anything outside the public area (C;/users/public....) I suspect what is happening is that windows 7 has made the folder containing your probe files read only - you will be able to see the names of your probes but PC-Dmis will not be allowed to edit the contents and therefor they will not display in the probe utilities window correctly. Additionally, even if you are able to view them through probe utilities, it is extremely unlikely that any calibration data will get permanently saved.
