I am pretty new to CMM , and your guys are experts to me . I have a question for your guys: When I create a program to taking test , and I canceled the execution of CMM , but the CMM machine was still running. Even I closed the PCDMIS software and the machine was still running 30 seconds. The running followed the codes of the program it was not random. What does cause this? I appreciate it if you can help.
If your controller is executing that much buffered code, you may need to use the E-Stop instead of cancel. Once you clear the E-Stop just do a machine start and everything will be fine.
Out of curiosity, how many different commands is it executing? You said it goes for 30 seconds, but that could be just a couple of long moves or half a dozen holes.
Different CMM controllers have different possibilities to stop the execution. For example, canceling on a Johansson CMM will clear the queue in the controller immediately.
Trade controllers for that kind of trouble shooting ? You are way to brave. If everything went slightly less than perfect with that ? I cannot imagine what I would tell my boss when both CMMS are now down....And how did that happen ? You did what ?.... I am going to recommend not doing anything of the sort.
I just wonder that another programmer who does not have this issue as I do.We operate same CMM machine; he work daytime and I work night time. I have no idea.My boss may think that I am stupied.
What if I and he have different access mode? I think my access mode is all access mode not adminstator . Or somebody can promote access my computer and open PCDMIS window at home?
