Schizoid CMM

Global 575, TP200, PC-DMIS 2015.1. Cleaned calibrated last April.
Using tips .3X20, .5X20, 1X20 consistently measures +.0003/.0004 in (0.008/0.010 mm)on various calibrated gages (ring, sphere, block).
Switched head and everything else with Global 2. No change. Machine 1 FUBAR, #2 results in tolerance.
Results of 2.5 hour online session with Hexagon -
Best probe calibration results are achieved at 0.75 mm/sec. Best measurement (closest to verified gage size but still over machine tolerance) at 11. Also manual is beter than DCC. Confused
Rant - Hexagon tech comment "I will discuss with engineering and some other groups ". This was last Wednesday. No responce since. Ticket was opened on 11/10. So down to 1 machine and I'm being asked to fill in for missing personel - end rant Angry
Any helpfull suggestions? It is a short week.Stuck out tongue closed eyes

  • My first question would be who is "calibrating" your machine.

Beyond that, sounds like a squareness issue. Have you checked these ring gages in other working planes and not just XY but YZ and ZX? Is the error repeatable in all three working planes or are your values different?

Do you have any way to verify the accuracy of your machine? Renishaw MCS or a ball bar? This sounds like a hardware issue though, the help desk will most likely be no help.
