Find Center - issue fixed in 2017 R1 Service Pack 1

Using 2017 I'm running an existing program. I use "find Center" for the square slots I'm measuring. Now when it tries to find the center the probe just keeps driving into the hole until the module hits the part surface. I have the depth set for .1 inches. I have never had this problem

  • Update: I have played around with this and it seems like the depth setting I have for the circle seems to be causing the error. I can set my Z to -0.16 with a depth of 0, and a check distance of 0.1,1 and it runs fine. But if I have my Z set to 0, Depth set to 0.16, and check distance set to 0.1, 1, the probe smacks the bottom of the part. Even with my check distance off, it still smacks the bottom.

and Don Ruggieri can this be tested on your end with this scenario?

This does seem to be a problem with depth, but only in INCH measurement routines. This would explain why some are reporting no issues with this. We are investigating the cause. . . .

  • Ah! Thank you! Yes, my program is in INCHES. No wonder why I didn't see it affect my metric programs. I only have a few inch programs anyway.
