Using 2017 I'm running an existing program. I use "find Center" for the square slots I'm measuring. Now when it tries to find the center the probe just keeps driving into the hole until the module hits the part surface. I have the depth set for .1 inches. I have never had this problem
Check Distance changed to actually work in 2017. With the cursor on one of the slots, check your F10 settings, and see what the numbers are for Check Distance and Check Percentage.
Check Distance tells the probe how far to check past nominal (nominal in this case being your .1 depth), and Percentage tells it how much percent of the Check Distance to move (1 is 100%, 0.5 is 50%).
So, if it is set at "1,1", it would be trying to check 100% of 1 inch past the depth to measure. If it is set at "0.1,1", it will try to check 0.1 inches past the depth. (You also may need to modify the value in the Settings Editor, see the help menu for that).
Honestly, I am glad you have ran into this problem. I experienced the same thing rolling out 2017 that I did not see in the tech preview. I just haven't had time to dig into it to validate the problem. Currently still running latest version of 2016.0 with no problems.
The program that was problematic for me works in 2016.0 SP5 and errors out in 2017. Hopefully, later this week I will have time to dig into this on my end. Been a busy last couple weeks...
Let me know if that doesn't work. There are some other registry values pertaining to Find Hole and Check DIstance, that could /possibly/ have an effect as well.
