Offline Having Some Trouble

Hello!
Running PC-DMIS 2013 MR1 with an online license connected to CMM, and a separate offline portlock.

It doesn't work!

I haven't touched this offline license before. I always program online, on-machine. But I recently found out we just had an offline license rotting in some desk.
My mind was blown.

Wow! Offline capability? I've only been asking about this since day fricken' one.

Regardless...

I stuck it in the machine and downloaded the same software I have on the CMM (2013 MR1 x86)
Run as Admin, install, Open Dmis, and everything looks good.

Until I try to write a program.
I come to the interface where I would choose if I'd like to write a program or not, which is promising.
However after I select that I'd like to make a new program (File>New...; select name, offline interface, OK) it crashes immediately!

I have tried to rename the interfac.dll to anything else, per instructions on this forum, to no avail.

I have not set up a machine interface on the offline license, which I would assume is the problem.

It is PC-DMIS Vision, but I don't know if that makes a difference. Right before it crashes it opens a virtual "Live View" window. Then "PC-DMIS is sending a crash report..."

I'm guessing I need some more information on how to get set up in Offline mode; the forums are showing a lot of information on what to do after the initial set up, but not actually how to do it?

Any help would be appreciated.

Note: There are two different PC's, one for online which is connected to the CMM, one for offline which is next to, but not connected to, the online PC.
There are two separate licenses; one for online, on the CMM PC, one for offline, on a portlock connected to the offline PC.

  • You have been suing the CMM while an offline seat gets covered in dust. That is hilarious. The b.s. management worries about and then something like that is just thrown in the weeds , no big deal right ?

I've had an offline seat sitting in my desk drawer for over a year because management doesn't want to cough up the money for a second computer. In fact, we just renewed our SMA, so it's officially been over a year. I've done the research and presented them with the best PC deals that I could find. I've asked if since it's just being completely wasted, if I could bring it home and put it on my home computer. All of my requests have been continuously put on the back-burner and never given a definitive answer. Step over a dollar to pick up a dime... I've seen it over and over again from management at various shops while working in various fields, and it still never ceases to amaze me.
