Greetings,
Does anybody know where to source replacement parts for an NJB jogbox, specifically an enable button? Hexagon will only sell the entire box and I know it's only the enable button that's been enabled one too many times.
As an aside, I was a member in this forum back when I first started programming some 20 years ago. I see Matt and a bunch of other familiar names are still here. Makes me smile to know that they are still selflessly helping people. I learn/learned a ton just lurking here. Been using another software for the past 15 years, but I've become a regulat lurker again now that I'm back using PC-DMIS.
I had one of our tech guys replace the enable button a few years ago, worked a treat. It is just a regular button underneath the black button cover. The whole jog box is a pretty simple thing tbh, I would bet it is pretty easy to find an electrical engineer somewhere who could repair most things on it. More technology in an Xbox controller.
I know companies are out there to make money but I cannot stand hexagon sometimes. As like the OP we were told it was a new jog box we needed to buy as they wouldn't fix it. This was on a jog box that was 6 months old bought from hexagon who wouldn't take it under warranty or repair.
@BT&D I agree; I've dropped the jogbox a couple times (wouldn't recommend!) where the plastic square buttons fell off (not sure what model I've got...) It was literally just a tactile push button you can get for $0.05 at an electronics store.
Stuck the plastic piece back in and haven't had a problem (yet!)
But I'm pretty clumsy, so I won't be surprised when the joystick falls off!
Then I'll just break out the Atari...
Has anyone else replaced the Enable Button on a NJB jogbox? When i took apart a junk jogbox we had laying around it seems like they have glued the nut onto the button assembly. Has anyone else figured out a way to get around that pesky glue? ive tried a few things but its quite a stubborn adhesive.
