Angularity

Can someone please help me understand how PC-DMIS calculates angularity. I'm checking the angularity between two lines that are called out at 45 degrees and the angle is measuring 44.89 which is well within spec. The angularity callout is 6.3 but on the legacy angularity dimension it is giving me a measured value of 35.001. ????

  • Angle tolerance zone is pie shaped. Angularity tolerance zone is two parallel lines XX distance apart, centered on the nominal angle.

Knowing the angle measurement doesn't tell you whether angularity is good or not.

Basically, it's just a surface profile at a basic angle from the datum. The surface could be wavy, or off angle.
