Protect Mode Forgotten Password

For our off shift inspectors, who are not fully trained as CMM operators we have been using PC-DMIS in Operator Mode. As a precaution that they would not go exploring and inadvertently change something the Protect Mode was enabled and a password was created. Unfortunately the password was not stored some place and has been forgotten. Is there anyway to get around the password so some needed changes can be made?

Thanks in advance!

  • Necro bumping this because I've double checked the password in settings editor and regedit, but the password doesn't work.

We have a generic user account that has protected mode turned on.  I need to turn it off so other people can run programs and calibrate tips while I'm on vacation.  I entered the password that was in the editor, I erased the password, and I've changed the password to something else.  All don't work on this other user.  For S and giggles I turned protected mode on using my account and was able to turn it off without problem.

    Any help would be appreciated.

  • Never mind.  It decided to behave after I posted this.
