We're currently making (and measuring) a very complex part that, among other things, has 10 fin-like projections that other parts fasten to. I would post a screenshot, but sadly it's ITAR. These fins have a .001"/1x1 flatness tolerance that's pretty tricky to hold, so I'm analog scanning each fin fairly thoroughly. Occasionally something in the manufacturing process gets the teeniest bit out of whack, and then the flatness goes out of spec. I have the CAD graphics for the flatnesses turned on so the guys can see where the issues are; however, they can only see that if they look at the open program right after the part is run.
I know it's possible to insert screenshots from the CAD window into the report; however, is it possible to have multiple screenshots with different section views and features turned on? The nature of the fins is such that it's not easy to see what's what without either the ability to rotate the part or show sections with only one CAD graph turned on at a time.
Thank you for your thoughts, everybody. I'm able to show the arrow deviation graphics using the analysis view, and I'm able to make the CAD remember a specific view with viewsets, but the viewset always turns the arrow graphics off so I can't combine the two.
I think the guys would be able to work with an angled view from the side that doesn't require sections etc. However, I need to use a viewset without it kicking the deviation arrows off.
I also tried the
newer "SNAPSHOT" functionality, but that also turned off the deviation arrows. The analysis views without CAD will be better than nothing, but it would be really nice to show the machinists exactly where on the part their problem is.
