New to CAD Models

Good Morning! I'm new to using CAD models. I only used them in class. I created a manual plane, line, point alignment to make the model aligned with the machine. The problem I'm having is when I change my alignment or workplane, my points are no longer aligned with my model. They are offset and mess up my dimensions. Do I need to continually redo the manual alignment to keep everything where it should be or am I missing something else? Thanks in advance!

Well White Rabbit my apologies I did not check to see your gender no offense meant but as it sounds like you did everything correct now but it is strange why you had this happen. I have only ever seen this happen when someone doesn't use the cad model but sounds like you did. sounds like since you didnt transform the cad model to be the same as the way that you are staging it then you should also use cad equals part after your dcc alignment then everything should snap to the model but when your doing your alignments you should make sure to rotate so that the trihedrant is normal to the machine axis

Nice gesture. I would never personally let someone off of a forum remote into a work computer. Got too many secrets on my computer!

This is my job that is what I do and I do not go around looking at peoples personal things on the computer and you can see everything that I am doing while I am doing it , I also sign NDA agreements all the time with many customers..

I'm sure. I'm just saying me personally. Wouldn't let someone off a forum remote in. Wouldn't risk it even for a biscuit.

Well Pudds that is your choice , there are allot of us guys here that this is what we do for a career , we work for either HEXAGON or a company that sells for them and we help others learn pc-dmis courses we get paid to do it and I am sometimes willing to help people out for free if I can..

So there is a calibration issue. What I had been doing was calibrating each tip angle individually and taking manual hits to locate the sphere. All pass calibration this way. But when I auto calibrate the tips used in the program, the A0B0 is always ok, but when I switch to A60B90, A67.5B90, or A90B90, it misses the sphere or hits just the edge. It is offset in the Y axis just like my programs.

If I have already located the sphere with A0B0, shouldn't the other angles "know" where the sphere is?
