PC-Dmis 4.3

I am currently using PC-Dmis 4.3 and it works fine. My IT department is telling me that I have to upgrade to Windows 10 on my computer.

Does PC-Dmis 4.3 work with windows 10?
Are there any issues with widows 10 and PC-Dmis?

Go on Hexagon's webpage, they list the system operating requirements for each version of PCD

Am pretty sure that 4.3 will not work with W10

4.3 was from 2008 I think. It is not supported in Widows 10.

Anecdotally I've hear that people have got 2012 to work on Win10 but I've had no joy in getting it working myself. 2013, whilst not supported seems to install and work okay.

The first supported version for WIn10 was 2015.

For windows 10, the earliest officially supported versions is PC-Dmis 2015.1

I would strongly advise talking to your local tech support prior to upgrading so that they can advise you of the best approach to take based on the content of your programs. We would not generally advise people make such a big jump in one go - from V4.3 to 2016 or a current version. We usually advise people to migrate their routines in stages, jumping no more than three versions at a time.

So...

V4.3 -> 2011 review programs and address any concerns.
2011 -> 2014 review programs and address any concerns.
2014 -> 2016 review programs and address any concerns.

I will probably take this machine off the internet server here at work,to prevent ant auto updating of windows, and keep it as a stand alone and not update windows. Hopefully in a year or so, we can update our controller cabinet and along with that new software.

We already have them. If you contact tech support they will be able to supply them to you. Or you can download from here: https://support.hexagonmi.com/s/article/Conversion-Utility-for-PC-DMIS

Not necessarily. It just automates the opening and saving of routines in a newer version. You should still review the routines prior to executing them.
