I have a vendor who is willing to share their CMM programming file with me but the issue is that they have a brown and sharpe CMM while I have a Hexagon CMM. Would this be something that could be transferred/converted over to PC-DMIS?
check if your vender is using PC-DMIS if yes confirm the version of software he/she has
if they have a higher version then yours just ask them to convert it to lower version and it will be fine.
if they are using any other software, I don't think you will be able to use it.

To add to this a bit, depending on the version you have and the version they have, some dimensions may become unusable. For example, if they have 2021 and you have 2018, all of their GeoTol dimensions will be turned into $$ comments when they backsave it to 2018. So there is a possibility of still having to redo some things when using this method, too. If you recreate the dimension in Xact Measure, the math is subtly different and that could also cause a small discrepancy between your results and theirs.
