A new customer is going to require us to freeze our processes.
Once frozen we have to ask permission to make any changes to the CMM program.
What types of changes do you think we should push back and ask to be allowed to make as needed?
What types of changes do you think would be better off being left frozen?
Is there any way to lock out the programs from editing?
Reporting Templates and setup images were items that never got locked down by the customer.
Probing, parameters, setup instructions, sequence, features, machine, fixture(s), software version and logic(flow control) were all changes that would require customer approval.
Sometimes we would update the photo in the setup instructions and that was never a trackable item. New operators/users might need an arrow or view added, but we couldn't add/remove a prompt.
