Lately, this has been happening, and I don’t know why.

After inspecting a few parts, the points on the CAD shift/move around on the CAD. I am using an iterative alignment.
i Feel silly asking but has this happened to anyone, or why is it happening?

  • I can see your inspection points are moving. I was reading your nominal values side by side, and it looks like they are all different. Here's what could've happened, based on what I've seen. You changed your iterative alignment, maybe the point locations or the number of features you want to use. When you do that, you get a popup message that asks of you want to change the nominals for everything past your updated alignment. You should ALWAYS click no. If you click yes it'll shift your nominals just a little bit. Its an easy mistake to make, I've done it myself. Also, you can use as many points as you want to do an iterative alignment, you aren't limited to 3-2-1. I've used up to a 20 points when I was measuring castings to create iterative alignments.
  • Iterative alignments will loop automatically if you set them up to. There is a checkbox for a "Measure all always" and a box for max iterations, the default value is 3. That's typically enough. Is there anything special about the alignment points you're choosing, like they're a datum target or something?
