Star probe calibration

Hello,

I need some help. Since few weeks now I have trouble calibrating my star probe. I don't now why but when it come to the fifth tip it goes on the wrong direction. Let me explain you.

My star probe is like this :

When I'm calibrating it in auto mode (DCC) with a sphere directed in Y+, for the first four tips it's good but when the fifth tip (the one in blue. Z+ direction) should go under the sphere and go up to take the first point (see picture), it goes down so the probe didn't reach anything and a error appears.

Before it was okay and all the fifth tips worked on DCC.

What is curious is if I tried to calibrate it in MAN+DCC after I take the first point manually it works.

Did you guys have any clue of what's happening ?

I hope it clear enought for you.

Kind regard.

  • What exactly does the error say? Is it possibly erroring out because the clearance move would be too low, like an out of stroke limit error? If so, you might need to go into the "Setup" dialog of Probe Utilities and investigate the clearance distances.

I'd also be curious if it would work when using Man+DCC, not that this is a great permanent solution, but maybe a temporary workaround.
