Trying to calibrate a probe that is used on normal production program. It is a 6mm x 150mm probe using an extended force TP20 module. It keeps failing calibration. When I look at the results, for the A90B0 wrist angle, the StdDev is .0047 (which is probably not unusual for a probe that long). How can I open up that tolerance so that it passes calibration? I thought that it was something on the probe setup screen....
notice that the example shown uses 0.15mm (0.006") for allowable size error.
I've been doing this for over 33 years. 2mm, 3mm, 4mm, and 6mm probes are the sizes I use. EVERY ONE of them has always calibrated a size of x.970 to x.985. Not as much as he used in his example, but ALWAYS under-size (TTP only!). What size are you getting for your calibration? Extended force module will probably give you much more under-size, as well as that length, then you might expect.
