Adding a new tool to UCC Server

Hi everyone, I'm still pretty new at this so I'm still trying to learn. I'm trying to add a new tool in UCC Server with an extension because the initial tool that was created (by someone else) is going to be a little short for some upcoming layouts I have due. I cloned the original tool and edited it to add the 30mm extension. I located the calibration sphere with my reference tool then changed the tip to my newly created extension tip and when I try to locate the sphere I get a 'Locate calibration part failed: [12000] Tool not calibrated' error message. When I right click on my tool and click calibrate I get 'Calibration failed: [5061] Calibration part location has not been determined' error message. My sphere is set as the default calibration artifact tool, and I can still locate and calibrate my original tool and all my angles, but what am I doing wrong with this new tool?? Please helpDisappointed
  • Typically we instruct our customer who have a Renishaw controller to get training from Renishaw or the company that installed the controller upgrade. Being a competitors controller we have limited knowledge on that product. But if this is the machine that I'm thinking about, you're still under SMA, and if you create a support ticket with Hexagon and have the ability to install remote access software we should be able to help.
  • You locate the sphere with the MASTER tool.

You do NOT locate the sphere with the other tools, you calibrate them.

Put the tool over the sphere 10-20mm (.4 - .7in), right click the tool, and select calibrate.

ONLY locate the sphere with the master tool, otherwise someone will eventually screw up and locate with a tool that wasn't calibrated on that specific position and your rack will not correlate.

and dont ever clone your master and rename it.
