Old unresolved issue. Import IGES, FIX Vectors checked, vectors are not flipped and even when I do it manually, Path lines still do not follow correct surface vector. In a time crunch here! CAD ISSUES NEED TO BE FIXED IN 2023!!!!!!!
That being said, I now have to try other imports.....I will send files to Support per usual
Don Ruggieri
I stopped using IGES and went for STEP instead. A lot less headaches since. On the other hand, some STEP CAD files has choked the demon during import though (not a large model).
I would love to use the Solid Works direct import (which I have) but that is buggy as well....Not to mention that if an Engineer saves the model in a different configuration than I need, I cannot import it without them opening it and saving. No control over configurations.
Just tried to import a new model from Solidworks and "Unspecified Error" occurred....
I just don't use CAD anymore with 2022. It defaults to snapping to CAD, to getting nominals fron CAD, and picking tip angles from CAD, rather than the numbers I typed in.
in cases where you want to check a part in-process (machinist: "can you check this, I left. 020" on datum A, and these holes aren't drilled yet"), using CAD really messes you up now.
Same here. Moreover, when exporting as IGES the results are jumbled mess even when I follow directions how to do it properly to the metal. DXF export though looks good.
