Just a cmm noob with another question. My company needs me to verify thesize of a polygon (3 sides). We do not have a go/no go pin in yet and they are asking for answers. PCDMIS is showing the Polygon to be larger than nominal and they do not believe my results. (Measured as Auto Polygon) Is there a secondary study I can do to prove the size of a polygon without using Auto Feature and in your experience is Auto feature on a polygon reliable when it comes to measuring Diameters. I would assume I need to do some sort of study and measure from the center of the rads to the Middle of the opposing lines and do some sort of Intersecting points. Using PCdmis 2021.1
Benedictj1 Yes it is a rounded polygon. Scanning for a profile is pretty damn smart, I could probably just scan one corner to figure it out or should I do a closed scan on the entire feature ? Again I apologize i'm not the brightest crayon in the box.
you can do a section scan or a closed linear scan. However, be aware of where the START and STOP are located make sure they are not on the "peak" of the radii.
