How do you show bonus tolerance in your excel reports ? Do you show the bonus values beneath your True Position then use an equation to generate a new tolerance ? Having trouble and no support here.
What dim strategy are you using? Legacy, Xactmeasure, or the new Geo Tolerances? I'm quite certain the answer will vary depending on which you are using.
I have typically reported the actual TP result and then included the bonus with it. I have never been questioned, but would be prepared to defend the parts IF the bonus was even a factor in complying. I have also seen software that will report the effective tolerance (print TP callout plus effective bonus)
I think either way would be acceptable. Some customers may have a preference and ask you to report it in a different format, but if they haven't specified then it's up to you. All you need to be able to demonstrate is that the parts conform to the requirements.
louisd I use legacy, I only Show TP and Diameters for holes.
william Ya I understand what you are saying, i'm used to only reporting Positional values and diameter while leaving the surface out but this company only wants to show TP and Diameter.
I have always just reported the measured value of the feature of size and the measured value of the true position. Why do you want to report the value of the bonus when it can be calculated from the measured value of the feature of size? If someone wants to know how much bonus there is all they have to do is look at the tolerance and measured value of the feature of size.
Mike Ruff Thanks for your response. The holes are showing out because it is not including the bonus tolerance on my excel sheet but In my programs the holes are passing TP because it is included. If I don't incorporate the bonus tolerance into the Excel sheet it will fail and my boss doesn't like that
FCF using excel output, won't export a few fields (profile min/max, I don't remember if it omits bonus). When exporting to excel, you will find that legacy dimensions are way better.
