I need to measure the perimeter of a shape that is a combination of an ellipse and a rounded slot accurately on the CMM. If I try measuring the feature as an ellipse or rounded slot, it will best fit the points, which will not give me the dimension I need to capture.
BIGWIG7 :
No where...!
Just remembeing that I can construct a vector from two points, and its length is the square root of the square dot product itself by it self (so SQRT(DOT(PT2.XYZ-PT1.XYZ,PT2.XYZ-PT1.XYZ) is the distance between PT1 and PT2, always positive)
Then, a set of vectors can be done by a substraction of arrays, with only one hit of difference.
The total length is the sum of distance, and I add the missing inteval.
Hope this helps
