0.01mm deviation in Y for all tips

Hi guys
so i have this simple check program of a guage ring where i measure it with mastertip, align to it and then measure it with all the other tips in my rack.
so the other day i noticed all the tips following mastertip had a deviation of 0.01mm in Y.
so i thought maybe someone had crashed the tip and then i re calibrated all my tips.

I ran the check program again and the results were the same!
the roundness of the ring is a few microns, so no shaft hits
and the calibration results were good too, between 0.001 - 0.002 std

what can i do

  • Your master tip probe file is possibly corrupt. I had a similar issue, only using a sphere to check the XYZ deviation between each stylus. When I first proved the program, each tip was out 0.001" in X. I used another stylus as the master, then only the original master tip was out 0.001".

Deleted the suspect probe file, rebuilt / requalified and all has been good since. I believe it was people qualifying tips and selecting NO when asked if the sphere had moved, that caused the probe file to become corrupted.
