Leveling Problem & Scan Highest Point

Hey guys possible engineering ideas coming down to QA lab soon. On the left drawing datum A is a continuous curvature with the flat bottom. Can't recall radius size. Profile callout to the datum A with basic dimension from the top of datum A to the bottom flat surface. Big question how to level this thing? Should I use Iterative, best fit or perhaps offset alignment tools? (I barely know this best fit alignment thing anyway). 2nd problem on the right. When scan those full radii how to construct the highest point? When I used autopoints it was easy: generic point, array & assign max or min, But what about a scan (linear open scan). I forgot to include trihedron but Z axis is pointing up X to the right & Y into the drawing.

  • Good day,

for the second problem there might be a quick fix:
From version pcDMIS 2021.1 you can try a "constructed extreme point".
this is a constructed point that spits out the highest (or lowest) point in a direction you can choose (for example ZPLus).
a scan is one of the valid inputs for this
