Hey folks. I need some advice. I want to scan the diameter of a bladed disk to get the Diameter and form. How do I go about scanning an interrupted surface like that? Is it possible to create a circular scan or do I need to do a bunch of small scans and extract the extreme point of each the construct a circle from that?
You can use a basic scan circle on a little angle, then copy/paste with pattern.
Maybe you can also perform a linear closed scan, and then construct a mincirc circle.
Make a circle scan with the desired angle ( for example start 0 end 15 degree) Make a loop and then make a construced circle of the small scans you can do the same with linear open scans. !! Important, make sure your workplane is set correctly or Pc-DMIS will trick you If you dont prefer loop "insert with pattern" option is works well too, i just like my programs nice clean and tidy and short as possible so i do loops. Hope this helps
I experimented with that today. Only problem is that wherever you tell the probe to start, if it doesn't hit a surface it won't begin the circular motion. The reason it's so tough is because the vane tips are not equally Spaced and there's 107 of them! Here's a picture for example
