Reporting MMC with MMB

Hello,

I have a problem with reporting position of a hole.
I'm a bit confused of how to report this in pcdmis.

Using PC-DMIS 2017 R1 SP10

Drawing frame:

ASME Y14.5
Is this correct?
If it is, then what is the actual bonus of position? Also do I take into account deviations of Dat A and Dat B?
What is my actual result and what is the bonus.

Thanks in advance.

  • Why are you specifying the MMB size of your secondary and tertiary datums? If you've defined the appropriate geometric tolerances correctly, you should let the software compute the MMB size unless the drawing clearly states a desired MMB size.

Without it i have this results:
    Datum D dev = 0
+TOL for Datum B shows 0.3 as earlier in the program there is position dimension for it

    Then in generic .txt

There is no position value for any of the datums
  • This is more correct than your report below. You should have a position tolerance defined on B with respect to [Z|A(M)] (which you do, 0.3). Without that geometric tolerance defined, you won't have as much datum shift available and possibly encounter a bug in XactMeasure where your datum feature will show OOT on the position label. The measured value of 0 is fine as XactMeasure is essentially simulating a functional gage after the application of datum shift.

You should also have an orientation tolerance on A with respect to [Z] to properly compute the MMB of A.
